La Jolla Commons Office Tower
Sophisticated Architecture coupled with LEED Efficiency
The 13-story, 300,000-square-foot high-rise, La Jolla Commons Office Tower, is a joint venture development between managing partner Hines and TIAA-CREF. Renowned architectural firm DMJM designed the elegant tower of pewter glass and silver metal. San Diego landscape architect Spurlock Poirier designed the verdant two-acre park-like setting for the twelve-acre campus. Construction of the office tower, which is prominently located off La Jolla Village Drive in the UTC area of San Diego, commenced in November 2006 and completed construction in July of 2008. La Jolla Commons has received Gold certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Core and Shell (LEED-CS) program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
